Spice Layer Cake with Meringue Frosting
NOTE: The sweet
meringue frosting complements the spices in the cake layers without
overpowering them. The flavor of the spices intensifies after a
day, so you may want to make the layers one day and frost them the
next.

1 recipe Meringue Frosting
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Follow master recipe for Basic Yellow Cake, sifting 11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon each ground ginger, freshly grated nutmeg, and ground cloves with flour and other dry ingredients.
2. When layers are cool, frost cake.
