29. Dimelaena (Rinodina) oreina [of mountains].
One of the most abundant crustose lichens of rock outcrops and cliffs. Its thallus covers and colors rocks throughout mountainous areas, and the greenish cast can be seen for miles. The apothecia are small, black, and imbedded in the thallus surface. It is one of the most common components of commercial "moss-rock."

30. Lecanora argopholis [silver-spot].
A lumpy, yellow-green or sometimes white crust, not lobed, with apothecia having a rim the same color as the thallus. The disk is a rich brown color. Lecanora is a very big genus of lichens that grow on rocks or bark, on the rotting stems of mosses, on dry wood, or even on bone. With experience with a few species, one can get a "feel" for the genus, although microscopic study is needed to be sure.
