This
Peltigera is very common in dry forests. It never seems to
produce apothecia, and the thallus is thick and rigid, gray-brown,
the lobes with upturned margins. The algal layer is blue-green,
hence the thallus does not become green when wet. A gray cobwebby
weft occurs on the younger parts of the thallus. The underside has
a network of raised veins, with white rhizines occurring along
them. |
