This is a pretty long section because there’s so much ground to cover. In the next several chapters, we go over the basic information you need to start and maintain your garden.

Chapter 4 is all about the tools of your new trade. After reading Chapter 5, you should have a pretty good idea of where you’ll put the garden and how large a garden you can actually handle. Chapter 6 features the steps you might take to plot out a garden. The work itself can get kind of tedious, but you really should pay attention to this chapter because it will save you time and even money in the end. Chapter 7 is a bit more fun because we look at some of the design options for vegetable gardening, including cute cottage style, formal European-style vegetable garden designs, and even a bit on the feng shui of gardens.
